Colour drenching — purple
5/5Wear the Whole Bruise
In the dataPurple
Paris did not sprinkle purple. It poured it. Lilac bags, royal knits, full monochrome looks — the colour moved from a detail to a decision.
The wearability trick is tonal dressing. One purple, head to toe, in different textures — a matte knit, a satin skirt, a suede bag — reads deliberate rather than costumey. Mixed textures keep a single hue from flattening.
The high street already caught it. Purple merino knits are showing out of stock, and purple suede minis are sitting in fall edits next to camel coats and chocolate tailoring. That is the buy-now version: a purple knit or bag, not a full runway look.
- Start with one purple piece against chocolate, camel, or black.
- Lilac softens tailoring; aubergine deepens evening.
- If full drenching feels much, do knit plus bag in the same family.
Purple plus suede in one compact bag.
