Couture, Off the Red Carpet
In the dataGlamour
Two days on from launch, the story of the week is still the queue. Shoppers waited outside H&M Regent Street before the 9 a.m. opening on October 22, and the collection's mix of embellished gowns, sharp tuxedo tailoring, lace blouses and shimmering separates is now the reference point for how to wear evening glamour in daylight.
The smart way to wear it has nothing to do with a gala. One sparkling piece does the work: a sequin top with straight trousers and a blazer, or a lace layer under knitwear so only the collar and cuffs show. The collection's palette of black, gold, emerald and chocolate makes that kind of restraint easy.
The symbolic piece is the bridal gown and hand-embroidered veil, a nod to the bridalwear on which Saab built his name in Beirut. It is also the clearest sign that this collaboration was designed as an event, not a capsule.
- Around 55 pieces across womenswear, menswear, footwear and accessories.
- First Elie Saab menswear ever; campaign fronted by Imaan Hammam, shot in Paris.
- hm.com blocks server-side fetches: use the H&M homepage link and verify stock in-browser.
The headline embellished piece of a launch-day queue-maker.
The easiest way to wear the collection without a gala invitation.
Doubles as the season's texture story: plush outerwear over slim layers.
