CRAFTED: heritage textiles, handwork, circular futures
5/5Lagos Hits Its Second Full Runway Day
Lagos Fashion Week's main runway programme reaches its second full day tonight, and the schedule is stacked from 5 p.m. Imadeduso, Pepperrow, Dukun and Bornstar Nigeria open the evening, followed by Ibilola Ogundipe, IGC Fashion, Sahrazad and Studio Imo at 6 p.m., then Fiuneggru, Pettre Taylor, Jermaine Bleu and Mot. The Label at 7 p.m.
The 8 p.m. slot is the one to circle: Irapada, Abiola Olusola, Lush Hair, LFJ and Bloke share the hour, with Désirée Iyama, JZO and Ekikere closing at 9 p.m. The night does not end at the tents — the Lagos Fashion Week x Bandage Live Music Experience runs from 10:30 p.m.
Day one set the tone for all of this. Emmy Kasbit and ALÁRA opened with Akwete Reimagined, a capsule reworking a recognised Nigerian textile tradition through a contemporary lens, while Sisiano's Some Birds Fly South brought sheer pieces, fringe and hand-printed fabrics, and Orange Culture's The In-Between layered uneven proportions and looped-yarn surfaces. Under the CRAFTED banner, heritage is not a reference point here — it is the material itself.
- Main runway shows: October 29-31 at the LagosFW Tents, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island.
- Tonight's 8 p.m. slot: Irapada, Abiola Olusola, Lush Hair, LFJ and Bloke; 9 p.m. close: Désirée Iyama, JZO and Ekikere.
- Day one also opened the business conversation: a Fashion Business Series panel on artisan recognition, with Christie Brown's Aisha Ayensu among the speakers.
